We are proud to share some exciting news. Liberty Builders of Georgia was recently featured in VoyageATL as part of their Inspiring Conversations series, spotlighting our founder Tamara White and the journey that led our family to custom homebuilding in the Lake Oconee area.

This feature is especially meaningful because it captures the heart behind Liberty Builders. Not just what we build, but why we build.

A Path Shaped by Purpose

Before Liberty Builders, Tamara spent 28 years in public education, most of them as a school counselor, guiding students and families through some of life’s most important seasons. With a background in Educational Leadership and a lifelong passion for design, Tamara always believed that spaces matter because they are where life happens.

Designing homes began as a creative outlet, helping friends and family transform their spaces into places of comfort, function, and beauty. What started as a passion eventually became something more.

After retiring from education, Tamara and her husband Eric White made the decision to relocate from Arkansas to Georgia to be closer to family. That move opened the door to an entirely new chapter.

A Family Owned Legacy

In 2024, Liberty Builders was purchased by the White family, uniting three generations of leadership and experience.

Nick serves as General Contractor, bringing hands on construction expertise and daily jobsite leadership. Eric serves as CEO, applying decades of executive leadership and strategic vision. Tamara oversees administration, marketing, and client communication, ensuring every project is guided with clarity, care, and intention.

Liberty Builders has served the Lake Oconee community since 1999, and our family is deeply committed to honoring that legacy while continuing to grow thoughtfully and authentically.

Choosing a Different Path in a Competitive Market

As shared in the VoyageATL interview, Lake Oconee is one of the most competitive construction markets in Georgia, particularly in the luxury space. From the beginning, Liberty Builders made a deliberate choice to remain small, hands on, and relationship driven.

Rather than chasing volume, we focus on high end craftsmanship without inflated overhead, direct involvement in every project, trusted subcontractors who meet our standards for quality and reliability, and transparency with every client.

That commitment has shaped the team we are proud to work with today, including in house craftsmen and long standing trade partners who share our values.
